Important Government Review : 3rd July
Today sees the start of a public consultation into the railways, titled Isle of Man Heritage Railways Independent Review & Economic Impact Assessment. In the overview of the assessment members of the public are advised “ ...this consultation is about developing an understanding of who uses the heritage rail network and why, and what is considered the most important factor in their operation...” .
It goes on the explain why your views matter: “ ...to gather the views of the public, and those involved in the Island’s voluntary heritage railways associations, to assist with understanding the role the heritage rail network plays in the Isle of Man, in support of the independent review and economic impact assessment currently being undertaken by SYSTRA...” . This is very important to the future of the railway and we would urge all site visitors reading this to complete the survey.
The closing date to submit your views is 13th August 2023 and the point of contact within government is Joanne Taylor, Head of Corporate Services & Change Projects, Central Support & Change who can be contacted by telephone on +44 (0) 1624 68665 or e-mail joanne.taylor2@gov.im.
