Association Volunteering : 25th March ’23
As the anniversary season continues volunteers from the Association have continued their activites on the railway, including further progress with No.5 Mona in the goods shed at Port St. Mary Station and the continued cleaning of No.1 Sutherland to ensure the locomotive looks its best for the 150th anniversary celebrations later in the year. A new cab floor has been fitted to No.5 as well as replacement seats based on those from No.6 Peveril while painting of smaller components continues. No.1 is displayed in the railway museum which is open today and trains are running to the usual “R” timetable.
