Photographic Update : 1st November
Work continues on the railway after the last trains on Sunday 29th October as the yard at Douglas Station is prepared for a full relay over the closed season; grounded six-wheeler body M.N.Ry. No.2 is also receiving attention to its roof ands bodywork as the rebuild of No.12 Hutchinson continues. In the paint shop are two pairs carriages, F.54 and F.62 which will both be repainted over the winter months. No.4 Loch was brought south light engine on 30th October.
Royal Saloon F.36 is also in the rear of the paintshop and will have some time-expired panelling replaced ahead of a full repaint, retaining its current maroon and yellow scheme, the interior also being overhauled. Moved to the carriage shed ahead of completion of painting is restored composite F.11, with sister F.10 still off-site being worked on by contractors ahead of a return to the railway, hopefully next year.
No.5 Mona is in the museum beside No.1 Sutherland will all large exhibits due to be sheeted over for winter any time soon; restored six-wheeler M.N.Ry. No.6 and Association-restored Van G.1 complete the scene. No.6 Peveril is in the goods shed at Port St. Mary where Association volunteers continue their work adding smaller components for future display as part of the Port Erin Line 150th next year.
The Association cosmetic restoration of No.9 Douglas continues in the running shed at Douglas Station, the boiler and well wagon having been moved from the Peel Line siding to join the frames ahead of being reunited as progress is made over the coming months. No.25 Sprout was moved from Castletown Station before the end of the season and is now in the workshops. No.8 Fenella stored in the infill shed.
