No.4 Loch & No.5 Mona : 27th July 2024
Posed at Port Erin Station ahead of the Manx Heritage Transport Festival and both celebrating their one hundred and fiftieth anniversary this year, No.4 Loch and No.5 Mona, which was removed from the railway museum in order to take part in the celebrations and replaced temporarily with No.6 Peveril. All three locomotive have extremely strong ties with the Association, No.4 being the subject of the successful Un-Loch Your Cash appeal launched in 1998 to return her to steam, No.5 being cosmetically restored 2022-2023 and No.6 similarly treated in both 1994 and 2020; it has been a joy for the Association to play such a key role in the anniversary events, also including the return of the oldest item of stock, van G.1 of 1873.
