Brake Van E.3

One of a second batch of two brake vans from the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd., of Saltley Works in Birmingham to the same design as the initial two from the previous year.  The underframe from this example was later converted to become G.19 in 1921, which remains extant in the railway museum in this form.  The bodies were scrapped.

In use with the diesel railcars on permanent way duties south of Santon Station in December of 1986 when G.19 was used as a crew mess room.

G.19 at Port St. Mary Station as part of a display for the 2011 Island At War 1940s weekend, one of the final times it saw use before entering the museum.
