Four-Wheel Carriage C.11
Built by the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd., of Saltley Works in Birmingham for the 1873 opening of the Peel Line, this carriage was, from 1882, close-coupled with A.11 to become “pair” F.74 in 1910. Surviving in this form until the close of the 1987 season in traffic, the original timber frames were used to construct G.16; the paired carriage is presently stored at Jurby Airfield together with F.66 and F.67 in as withdrawn condition carrying nationalisation maroon livery.
