Four-Wheel Carriage B.12
Built by the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co.,Ltd., of Saltley Works in Birmingham for the 1873 opening of the Peel Line, from 1881 this carriage was close-coupled to C.5 and in 1911 the two were mounted on a new bogie underframe to become “pair” F.71; the bodies were scrapped in 1979 and the underframes later converted to a ballast hopper in which form they remain today. The original timber frames were used to construct K.13 (ii) the bodies were scrapped.
