Four-Wheel Carriage B.3

Supplied by the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd., of Saltley Works in Birmingham for the 1873 opening of the Peel Line, this carriage was close-coupled from 1882 with B.5, then mounted on a new bogie underframe from the same supplier in 1912 to become “pair” F.51, the timber frames were then used to create K.15 (ii); the bodies were scrapped in 1967 and the frames became R.11.
