Four-Wheel Carriage C.12
One of the first batch delivered for the opening of the Peel Line in 1873 by the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd., of Saltley Works in Birmingham, this carriage became close-coupled in 1880 with A.10 and in 1910 a new bogie underframe was supplied from the same manufacturer to create “pair” F.61; the bodies were scrapped in 1967 and the underframe became bogie runner R.6.
F.61 dumped at St. John’s Station in 1968 while underframes saw further use.
