Four-Wheel Carriage C.3

Supplied by the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd., of Saltley Works in Birmingham for the opening of the Peel Line in 1873, this carriage was close coupled with B.18 from 1881 to become “pair” F.58, latterly used almost exclusively on the schools trains; the bodies were scrapped in 1968 and the underframes became bogie runner R.5.
