The Small “F” Series : Bogie Carriages
The second batch of composite bogie carriages were delivered from the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd., of Saltley in Birmingham in 1896 and consisted of six similar vehicles, three of which survive today with one, F.26 being in regular traffic and two, F.21 and F.25 stored out of service in need of restoration in the carriage shed at Port Erin Station.
They were similar to the earlier batch F.1-F.18 from Brown, Marshalls & Co., being a mixture of third class and composite stock with some variance in the panelling between the compartment windows as shown in the two drawings here.
