Bypass Road, Castletown

Closed & Removed
Temporary stop established to serve the nearby Castle Rushen High School which was open only to pupils making their way to school by train during a bus drivers' strike on the island; a temporary scaffolding platform capable of holding four bogie carriages was erected to serve the halt, around a mile south-west of Castletown Station close to the start/finish line of the Southern 100 Billown Circuit on the town's bypass road; a marquee was also erected to provide covered accommodation and a vinyl running in board in house style erected for the duration of services. The only other train to call at the halt was a recreation Manx Northern Railway train headed by M.N.Ry. No.4 Caledonia and the Foxdale Coach during the 2013 Rush Hour weekend. Shortly afterwards the halt was removed. Colloquially the area is known as the reed beds and today there is little to suggest a stopping place ever existed here.
