Ron is a stalwart of the Association and has in the past served as chairman, vice-chairman, Manx Steam Railway News editor and fundraising administrator; prior to moving to the island with his late wife Celia he was a leading light in a number of the area groups of the Association and instrumental in the campaign to save the railway in the dark days before nationalisation.  He was also heavily involved with the Groudle Glen Railway for many years.  Ron is our chief link with the origins of the Association and still regularly attends board meetings.
