Four-Wheel Carriage B.16

Sixteenth of the series and supplied by the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co.,Ltd., of Saltley Works in Birmingham for the 1873 opening of the Peel Line, from 1881 this carriage was close-coupled to B.20 and in 1919 the two were mounted on a new bogie underframe to become F.57; the original timber frames were used to construct K.15 (ii) and bodies scrapped in 1983, the frames still in periodic use as a flat wagon today.
