The latest edition of our official journal Manx Steam Railway News has been delivered from the printers and will be dispatched to members shortly; held back to include the Chairman’s Report from our annual general meeting, this edition contains the usual mix of news, views and photographs covering the period up to T.T. Week with the anniversary details tof follow in the next edition which is being worked on at the moment.

With so much happening including the special 150th anniversary day and extended Summer Transport Festival it is currently planned to release Issue No.191 in close succession and the editor welcomes any contributions for inclusion from up to date views and images of the year so far to historical content.  You can contact The Editor directly by post and e-mail, the upcoming edition will cover both the events, day-to-day operations and the ongoing SYSTRA review of the railway which has been in the press and much-discussed both of and on the island.

Meanwhile, the railway continues to be busy with the evening train to timetable “U” in force each Thursday throughout August, timetable “R” featuring Mondays-Thursdays and Sundays with timetable “S” running on Fridays and Saturdays through until the end of the month.  Throughout September timetable “R” will still operate on a daily basis.  The popular dining train continues to offer a wide variety of on-board catering until the end of the season.
