Three-Plank Wagons Hr.27 - Hr.38

Six identical wagons delivered from the Ashbury Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd., in 1877, the second batch following the originals which were supplied from the Metrpolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd., of Saltley Works in Birmingham.  These six could be identified by their coil as opposed to leaf spring of other members of the series.  H.25 was scrapped as early as 1927, followed in 1954 by H.23; H.24 was disposed of in 1958 and the following year saw H.22 succumb to the cutters torches.  The last to survive was H.21 which was dismantled and stripped for spares in 1962.  Hr.31 was scrapped as early as 1924, the next to be lost being Hr.32 in 1927, followed by Hr.36 in 1944 and Hr.35 the next year.  Hr.33 and Hr.38 were scrapped in 1947 and Hr.27 followed in 1948.  Hr.29 was lost in 1957 with Hr.34 the following year leaving only one representative.
