Four-Wheel Carriage B.4

Built for the opening of the Peel Line in 1873 and supplied by the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd., of Saltley Works in Birmingham, this carriage was close-coupled with B.17 from 1882 and in 1923 mounted permanently on a new bogie underframe from the same supplier to become F.69; the timber underframe was then used to create K.23; the bodies were scrapped in 1967 and the frames became R.9
