Closed Van G.1

G.1 was the first van of the 1873 batch and a remarkable survivor; seeing use latterly by permanent way gangs, it was commonly seen stored in the goods yard at Ballasalla Station; a detailed biography of this unique van, the oldest item of rolling stock on the railway, and details of its restoration by the Assocication, can be found on the dedicated project page.
