“Pairs” Carriage F.51

Two four-wheel carriages dating from 1873, B.3 and B.5, mounted in 1912 on a new bogie underframe provided by the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd., becoming F.51.  Latterly used almost exclusively on schools trains, it was withdrawn in 1963 and the bodies removed at St. John's in 1968 to create bogie runner R.11.  This was sold to the Ffestiniog Railway in 1974 and used to construct their carriage No.120.
