The Supporters' Association have been delighted to assist the Friends Of Castletown Station volunteer group with their latest project on the historic site, the erection of a replica cattle dock in the former goods yard. A grant of £4,000.00 was donated to the group in order to have this new feature completed in time for the first trains of the season next week on Thursday 19th March. It is hoped the siding which once served the dock will be relaid in the near future. This is part of ongoing work at the site over the closed season which has seen the railway and its contractors renew all the traditional picket fencing on the site, surfacing of the car park, lighting in the goods shed all of which are making the station look extremely smart. Work remains ongoing on the advertisment hoarding as part of pre-season preparations.
