Friday 20th March was the second day of the season and saw an amendment to the “R” timetable, with No.4 Loch and No.13 Kissack joined in traffic by M.N.Ry. No.4 Caledonia which was marshalled on the rear of the 1.50pm ex-Douglas Station the previous day to take up duties, a special 7.40am ex-Port Erin Station being operated for the ongoing bus strikes on the island.
This additional train was taken by No.13 Kissack leaving M.N.Ry. No.4 Caledonia to take the regular 10.00am departure, the two locomotives swapping later in the day. A further special service will operate on Monday 23rd March be found on Isle of Man Railways social media pages, though no scheduled services will operate, these will resume as advertised on Thursday with the usual “R” timetable.
