The Breakdown Cranes

Since opening the railway has owned three different breakdown cranes with the first supplied for the Peel Line opening in 183.  One still remains today, albeit on a short section of rail displayed at Union Mills Station as part of the Rail Trail since 1992.  These cranes appear to have seen relatively little use operationally, with the third example, despite bearing lettering and canonical fleet number, having been owned and restored by a private individual.  What follows are histories of each of these cranes which can be found by clicking each of the links below.  Details for the fourth crane are currently pending, this was purchased by The Association in 2019.
