2000 - 2009
The new millennium dawned on the railway and to begin with it was very much business as usual with 2000 seeing a continuation of the familar pattern of the previous decade, albeit with new-look branding; changes were afoot in 2002 when the widespread track renewal commenced with a special All Change leafler produced to note disruptions. It was not until 2004 that the full line was reinstated, two iterations of the timetable being issued.
Throughout the period Robert Smith was in charge as Director of Public Transport, well remembered for the pioneering event periods for which the decade is most fondly remembered. Across the years the annual timetable remained much the same as had been established the previous decade with Ballasalla Station used as primary passing place, dinnertime trains passing at Castletown Station and Port Soderick Station used for peak season.
