The Manx Heritage Transport Festival is one of the highlights of the railway calendar and happily this year included celebrations of the Supporters' Association diamond jubilee with a number of events, notably the jubilee evening train serving our annual general meeting held in the Railway Museum and a number of headboards commemorating key figures in our organisation over the years.  What follows are a selection of photographs from the event.  This year the six-day event took place from Tuesday 28th July to Wednesday 2nd August and was largely focussed on the 150th anniversary of the horse tramway although trains remained extremely well supported with the “S” timetable dominating the week and all four locomotives in service, notably including M.N.Ry. No.4 Caledonia and restored Hurst-Nelson 1899-built bogie carriage M.N.Ry. No.16 proving a highlight at the head of our special train on the evening of Wednesday 29th July 2026.

The event also saw the publication of our new booklet The 1966 Almanac tying in neatly with our anniversary in what is hoped to be the first of an annual publication covering each year using back issues of our official journal Manx Steam Railway News and its contemporary articles newly updated with fresh photographic content and ephemera.

Work is now also well advanced on Issue No.200, the journal itself also celebrating a landmark this year; it is proposed to publish this edition relatively quickly to cover the event and provide an extra issue for this momentous year in our own history, hot on the heels of the previous edition last month.
