Brake Van Er.8
Built by the Manx Northern Railway in their Ramsey Works in 1895 and inherited from them as part of the 1905 amalgamation, this van was allocated the number Er.8, the small “r” denoting its Manx Northern Railway origins in common with other inherited rolling stock. It was later was removed from its underframes which were used to construct a small runner for use with No.2 Crane and the carriage body used as a grounded store at Colby Station where it remained until 1974 when it was scrapped on site, though plinth remains in place today.
