The Stations

At its peak the railway ran over nearly fifty miles of lines across the island with the first line to Peel opening in 1873, followed just thirteen months later by the second line serving Port Erin; the rival Manx Northern Railway opened its route  between Ramsey and St. John’s in 1879 with the Foxdale Line following in 1885; a branch serving the Knockaloe alien internment camp was established in 1918 when the railway reached its maximum size.  Below are links to detailed sections on each of the stations and other areas of interest:-
