This area of the site is dedicated to the operational issues of the Isle of Man Railway and cites the 1922 issue Rule Book which was in force for many years, updated in 1967 when Lord Ailsa took over operations.  Simply navigate each of the areas using the links.

The rule book remained in issue until the nationalisation of the railway in 1978, whereafter it has been modified and updated regularly, initially in order to comply with the Isle of Man Passenger Transport Act of 1982 with almost annual updates.

Today the rules also encompass modern additions such as the automated crossings, signal matrixes and other more recent initiatives; two books are in issue, one with general rules across all government lines and the other specific to the railway itself.
