In March 2023 the Association provided and fitted a replica of the Douglas & Peel United banner carried by No.1 Sutherland on opening day in 1873 and fitted to the locomotive for the start of the anniversary season in the railway museum at Port Erin.  the banner was based on the three existing photographs of opening day and contemporary press reports which revealed that the banner was vermilion with yellow/gold lettering, and the corporate typeface of the Association seemed as fitting as anything to use for the banner, which it is hoped will be embellished with floral displays later in the season as seen on the opening day photographs.

After the 2023 commemorations the banner was removed from the locomotive and it is hoped to display it in the museum in the future as part of our ongoing works in the exhibition hall.
