Half-Brake Carriage F.42

Supplied with F.40 and F.41 from the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., of Saltley Works in Birmingham in 1907, this carriage later saw use as a mess room for the Association at Ballasalla Station where volunteers stored equipment for lineside works; latterly moved back to Douglas Station where it was scrapped in poor condition and deemed surplus to operational requirements.

July 1970 and F.42 was still in active service when seen at Douglas Station on the rear of a train, typcial marshalling for these carriages.

In May 1932 F.42 was still carrying the original purple lake and off-white livery when seen at Douglas Station, note the torpedos.
