Closed Van G.6

Second of two closed vans from the Ashbury Wagon & Iron Co., Ltd., in 1877, (the other being G.5) this example was scrapped as part of the Ballasalla Bonfire in 1974.  It was fitted with portholes to aid ventilation, completed with hinged flaps as illustrated.  Only two of these vans were obtained from this supplier though both were of the same design as the first batch provided from the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd.
