Half-Brake Carriage F.43

Second of a batch of two delivered from the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., of Saltley Works in Birmingham in 1907, the other being F.44, this carriage was withdrawn from traffic in 1983 and currently stored in the carriage shed at Port Erin Station.  With some panelling removed, it is the last example to still carry the nationalisation maroon and pale cream scheme with orange horizontal line, and has been daubed with graffiti over time including a British Rail arrows logo and the word  “scrap” on one side.
