Railway Buttons For Sale : 10th January 2025
Railway Buttons For Sale : 10th January 2025
Nigel Harrison has had produced some sets of uniform buttons which he is offering for sale; these are based on the pattern originally created for the Year Of Railways in 1993 when staff were all supplied with period uniforms complete with these brass effect buttons and would make a great addition to any collection. These are brand-new, high quality buttons manufactured by the well known long established makers Firmin & Sons. The larger style (for blazer and coat) and smaller (waistcoat) size are both available. Anyone who would like some please let Nigel know. He has very kindly offered that to Supporters’ Association members they will be available at cost. Nigel can be contacted on nigelharrison27@gmail.com or eBay by clicking the logo below:-
If interested members do not have access to e-mail they can contact The Editor whose details appear inside the front cover of this and every edition or by clicking here. We are also optimistic that stocks of these can also be made available from the railway’s own retail outlets in the fullness of time. In the meantime the Supporters’ Association can offer a range of sales items including the Castletown Station 150th Anniversary Guide which is available from our sales page here, as well as back issues of our official quarterly journal Manx Steam Railway News. We are also presently looking into items to mark our diamond jubilee which takes place in 2026 - watch this space for details.
The season commence on Thursday 20th March. The next edition of our official journal Manx Steam Railway News is also due towards with a deadline for submissions of the end of January and publication as soon as possible thereafter.
The dining train leaflet for 2025 has been published and bookings are now open - you can view the full itinerary by clicking the image to the left; the usual mix of themed events and popular Pie & Mash trains are returning for 2025.
Also the Manx Heritage Transport Festival will take place from Tuesday 22nd to Sunday 27th July 2025. The season will draw to a close on Sunday 2nd November. We are looking forward to another bumper year for the railway.
