Christmas Details Announced : 12th October

Details of the festive services have been announced, including the Steam Into Christmas dining car dates and meal options, the return of the Polar ExpressTM and seasonal services on the electric railway.  Notably this year there will be no Santa Trains although Santa Trams will be operated.  The usual mix of dining options are available including the Curry Club, Pie & Mash and Christmas Party trains, culminating once again with the New Years’ Eve spectacular priced at £130.00 per adult, seeing in 2024 in style.


Details of the 2024 operating season are also included, with services due to commence on Friday 15th March running through until Sunday 3rd November 2024, the timetable details have yet to be published.  Also included are the dates for the 2024 Manx Heritage Transport Festival which will run between 30thJuly and 4th August, and the Dino Express week for four days in April in conjunction with Manx National Heritage and the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, the season concluding with the Hop-Tu-Naa Dragons Express.


The railway continues to operate five days a week until 29th October with no services on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; timetable “R” will be in place on these days with this evening (Thursday 12th October) being the final opportunity this year to travel on the evening timetable “U” service.  The advertised Love Train due to take place this Saturday evening (14th) has been cancelled.  Locomotives in service at the present time are No.11 Maitland operating out of Port Erin with No.13 Kissack based in Douglas Station and No.4 Loch as spare.
