“Pairs” Carriage F.52

F.52 was created in 1912 by mounting four-wheel carriages A.2 and C.2 on a new bogie underframe provided by the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd. of Saltley Works in Birmingham.  By 1968 it had been out of use for some time and the bodies were removed and scrapped at St. John's, the underframe becoming bogie runner R.4.  This was sold to the Ffestiniog Railway in 1974 and used for the basis of their Waggon No.56.
