Four-Wheel Carriage C.1

First of the series and delivered for the opening of the Peel Line in 1873 from the Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon Co., Ltd., of Saltley Works in Birmingham, this carriage was close coupled with B.19 in 1912 on a new underframe from the same supplier to become F.64, the underframe from which survives as a bogier runner today.  The other portion has long since been scrapped but C.1 remains on the Peel Station site, fully repainted for its 150th anniversary in 2023.
