Drop-Side Wagons M.1 - M.4
The first initial batch of drop-side wagons obtained from the Ashbury Carriage Wagon & Iron Co., Ltd., and following the first batch of "H" wagons from 1873, there were four of these, all surviving in use until the latter days of the Railway Company operations, M.1 was scrapped in 1960 and was followed by M.3 and M.4 in 1964, stored on a siding near the carriage turntable at St. John's after withdrawal, with M.2 surviving into the Ailsa Era being lost in 1967.
