M.N.Ry. Carriage No.12

The original composite-construction wheels were often cited as the reason for collapse on the six-wheelers and it was a failure of this nature that occurred between Union Mills and Crosby on 4th October 1904 to the extent that the vehicle was withdrawn that December.  It was then reused as the bothy at Douglas Station, never being allocated a new fleet number, where it remained until 1964 when it was scrapped and replaced by N.42 as above.
